G, As In G. Willikers!

No, that’s not an exclamation on my part, but rather a toy store.  What a fun name!  This toy store has been open since 1978 and provides fun for all ages.  Not long after passing this store I saw the Grandpa walking with his Granddaughter (I presume) and who knows, maybe they were headed to the toy store.  I also included a few other things that I’m trying to figure out if they’re supposed to be that way, or if they’re really not.  Those things include the graffiti wall and the grungy door.  Yet the graffiti looks quite artistic in most parts of it… perhaps it’s intentional art?  The door is very interesting, almost in a creative painting sort of way.  Maybe that door isn’t really grungy?    Well, I suppose it’s for each individual to decide at this point.  Enjoy!

F, As In Fake

There’s something just not quite right about walking by a local sushi restaurant and seeing “fake” sushi in the window.  I’m sure it’s plastic (oh boy, I HOPE it’s plastic) but really, I don’t know that it’s necessary.  Surely there’s another window display option that would say “hey, our food and ambiance are great, come eat here!”?!  Well, just in case you wondered what that might look like, I’ve included a lovely photo called “fake” in this post.  Don’t worry, I’ve offset it with fun, family, flowers, feet and all sorts of other great F things!

E, As In Entrance

Alright, alright, I know I’m a bit delayed with this post!  Things have been a bit crazy lately and that includes a crashed desktop computer.  NOT FUN!  I’m still working on bringing it back to life, but in the meantime I’m working from my laptop, which isn’t ideal, but at least it works.  Of course, I completely forgot to capitalize on the Easter holiday and photograph all things Easter for E, but I did manage to get some lovely plastic, candy filled eggs.  You can see for yourself what the rest of E looks like….

D, As In Doors

My sister is the one who inspired most of the photos for this post with D.  She has this thing with doors and I have no idea where it stems from.  She likes them, especially pretty or unique ones, and that’s ok.  She could like snakes, ghosts, or any other variety of things that would be neither as accessible nor as enjoyable to photograph as doors.  The town that I live in is one of the first established in the United States and there is a lot of great older architecture, especially the houses.  With those old houses comes very uniquely designed and colored doors.  I took a little walkabout one of the historic parts of town and captured a few doors.  Jess, they’re for you!

Additionally, you’ll see some animals, including a dolphin that was stuck in a low tide area and was eventually helped out.  My beloved black lab, Tucker, is also included (dog!).  There are the decks, danger, drama, door handle, deposit box, dead (leaves), decisions (or delicious, when I think of wine!) and my “D” stationary that I picked up in Italy.

I tried a different option, the gallery setting, for this post.  You can simply click on the first image below and it will open up larger, then you can pace through all of the images.

Enjoy!

C, As In CRAZY!

In this case, I think crazy may just be a huge understatement.  Yet, the reason behind the craziness is all worth it.  February brought a fabulous fundraiser for the Special Olympics, the Penguin Plunge!  This is an annual event that is held in multiple areas of the country (really, anywhere near outdoors water it seems) with brave people who plunge into frigid waters in a variety of costumes, goofy hats, shirts and whatever else pleases them (fitting with the annual theme).  They all raise a minimum number of dollars for the fundraiser to make the plunge, meaning, all of the rest of us contribute money to the Special Olympics on their behalf to watch them run screaming into 42 degree water in 25 degree air temperatures.  CRAZY!  :-)icon_smile   I also took some time to capture some shots of the older look of the town, especially with things boarded up for winter.  Thankfully summer and the vitality it brings to that area will be here before we know it!

I had a special visit from my sister and my nephew, Colin, and we enjoyed some fun adventures to the Childrens Museum and the beach to collect pretty rocks.  I’d like to say that C might stand for cold, but this year, not as much as in years past when they visited… we were outside most of the day enjoying the nearly balmy weather!    Cheers to the C’s!
