In this case, I think crazy may just be a huge understatement.  Yet, the reason behind the craziness is all worth it.  February brought a fabulous fundraiser for the Special Olympics, the Penguin Plunge!  This is an annual event that is held in multiple areas of the country (really, anywhere near outdoors water it seems) with brave people who plunge into frigid waters in a variety of costumes, goofy hats, shirts and whatever else pleases them (fitting with the annual theme).  They all raise a minimum number of dollars for the fundraiser to make the plunge, meaning, all of the rest of us contribute money to the Special Olympics on their behalf to watch them run screaming into 42 degree water in 25 degree air temperatures.  CRAZY!  icon_smile   I also took some time to capture some shots of the older look of the town, especially with things boarded up for winter.  Thankfully summer and the vitality it brings to that area will be here before we know it!

I had a special visit from my sister and my nephew, Colin, and we enjoyed some fun adventures to the Childrens Museum and the beach to collect pretty rocks.  I’d like to say that C might stand for cold, but this year, not as much as in years past when they visited… we were outside most of the day enjoying the nearly balmy weather!    Cheers to the C’s!
